Learning Management Engine

The University is currently looking for a new core engine for its Academic Toolbox ecosystem. This is an RFP process, and we are currently in the contract negotiation stage. Target for a selection announcement is summer of 2017. Sponsors are the Vice-Provost Academic Operations and Vice-Provost Innovations in Undergraduate Education. Audience Response Systems (clickers)

The University is currently looking to select a limited number of suppliers of record for the provision of audience response (aka “clickers”) solutions. This is an RFSQ process, and we are currently in the technical assessment of short-listed proponents stage. Target for a selection announcement is summer of 2017. Transcription Services

The University is currently preparing to post an RFSQ for transcription services that could be used to meet AODA obligations as well as other transcription needs. The main goal is to reduce costs for end users and departments. We are currently finalizing the needs requirements and working with Procurement Services to post the opportunity. Target for a selection announcement is Fall of 2017. Sponsor is the University’s AODA Office. 

Personal Spaces (Individual WordPress Sites; Blogging tools)

The University is currently looking to replace the infrastructure for the UtorWeb (Individual.UToronto) personal webspace service with a WordPress-based infrastructure. We have completed a multi-quote process, and have identified a potential provider, and are now completing the contract details. Target for a selection announcement is summer of 2017. Surveys and Forms Tool

The University is currently looking deploy a robust and extremely secure surveys and forms tool that can be used for academic, research and/or administrative purposes, while saving departments money currently being spent via distributed licensing. An RFP was posted on MERX and recently closed, with the assessment phase schedule for late Summer 2017 and a target for a selection announcement in the Fall of 2017. Sponsors are Vice-President Research and Vice-President University Operations. 

Enterprise WordPress Hosting Services

The University is currently looking to replace the infrastructure for enterprise content management services (web hosting) with a WordPress-based infrastructure. Target for a selection announcement is Fall of 2017. Sponsor is the Vice-President University Operations.

Video-Conferencing Bridge Technology

The University is currently looking to replace the current video-conferencing bridging technology with more modern functionality (including client and room systems interoperability). We are currently completing our environmental scan. Target for a selection announcement is Fall of 2017. Sponsor is the Vice-President University Operations.
