Eligibility Guidelines

To be eligible for a REDCap user account at the University of Toronto individuals must have:

  • A valid University of Toronto UTORid
  • Receive approval through their division/department
  • UTORmfa

Divisional Approval

The University of Toronto is rolling REDCap on a per-division/department basis. The criteria for eligibility are determined by appointed divisional and/or departmental leadership. Persons wishing to request a REDCap account should complete the onboarding form.

Upon submission, the assigned departmental contact will receive an email notification containing the applicant’s details for review. The departmental contact will approve or reject the request or reach out to the applicant for additional clarification using the contact information provided with the submission. The list of Departmental REDCap Administrators can be found here.

Note that applicants from the Faculty of Kinesiology & Physical Education (KPE), the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM) and the University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC) should NOT use this form. Faculty of Kinesiology & Physical Education (KPE) requests can be submitted here. Other applicants should reach out to the departmental contacts.

UTORMFA

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is a security enhancement that requires two sets of unique credentials before granting users access to an account (i.e., your password paired with a code sent to your mobile phone). This service is provided by Duo Security. The University of Toronto (U of T) is adapting to advanced technological threats by adopting an MFA service, Duo, for its core community members. UTORMFA will be provisioning accounts to prospective users on a rolling basis.
